  • Formed in the late 1960s by companies who specialised in the manufacture of container handling equipment for the dry waste sector
  • CHEM represents the interests of over 25 member companies
  • CHEM is involved with standards within the industry and forming of legislation with bodies such as the HSE and the European Union
  • Muni-Serv personnel sit on RCV and Skip and Hook committees
  • All Muni-Serv Equipment is supplied to strict CHEM guidelines

 

The aims of CHEM are to:

  • Develop and maintain technical standards which enhance the safety of the equipment
  • Represent the interests of the members with related industry bodies which include:- ESA, CIWM, HSE, BSI, DTI, CEN and others
  • Publish codes of practice covering the safe operation of equipment
  • Provide a forum for discussion of topics of interest and benefit of the members and the waste industry as a whole
